The new format entails some logistical changes for the riders that the organisation intends to minimise, in order to keep it as similar as possible to its successful three-day format.

MMR Asturias Bike Race 2019 will start on Thursday afternoon with a short (less than 90 minutes), fast and intense stage, to get the feel of the race, avoiding a great physical fatigue to the riders, and helping them to travel on the same day of race begins.
